What a fun article! It brought back memories of a tour through the Maui Gold farm. I appreciate your explanation of why we don't see the white pineapple in grocery stores.

Thanks, Nora. These pineapples are meant to be eaten soon after they’re snapped off the plant. You should see the long lines of eager buyers at farmers markets.

The tours are year round. The pineapples are in season all the time, though there may be a slowdown depending on the weather.
