Wonderful Greg! I must try the calamansi lime in my KLP. I actually prefer the Persian to Key, if I may be so bold. I use a little lemon juice in mine and fold whipped cream into the filling. And my crust is roasted pecan and graham crackers. I just posted my recipe yesterday in my SS post. Thanks for sharing with us! 😊
So happy to get your note, Marcia. A key lime pie is a lovely dessert for spring. Dan pops in occasionally with a smile and I smile back. Come to Kaua’i.
There is a key lime. It was decimated by a freeze decades ago and it’s no longer grown commercially in Florida. I’ve used them and their liminess is no better than Persian limes. The Calamansi lime is sensational.
This sounds enticingly simple! Can it be? I feel like running out and buying some limes, right now! Of course, here in Montana there's no chance of a Calamansi, but I get the message that it's all "O-Key" whatever you get.
Looks and sounds yummy! Hope you are still enjoying Hawaii! Snow squall currently in the Helena, MT area.
We love living in Kauai. And do make the pie. You’ll love it. Bundle up!

I will make this in a couple of weeks for my book circle here in Sweden. And dream of Hawaii and limes. Perfect. Thanks so much.
PS will be interesting to see if I can manage to find the proper ingredients here...
Wonderful to read your message, Helena. I predict your book circle will love the pie. Please let me know!
Mmm, this sounds luscious, Greg. Danno used to love key lime pies. I'll have to give your recipe a try now that spring has come to Pennsylvania.
Love to you and Dottie.

So there really isn't a key lime. It's a key, lime pie. My 8th grade English teacher would have something to say about this!

The story behind the story!

I will try it with lemon, as we have no limes here, but our lemons are somewhat sweet and I am sure it will work!
